Named after a plant existing on the coast, used by fishermen to make buoys for their fishing nets, Ponta da Pita is a rock formation that advances into Antonina’s bay. Located in a region where the waters of the Atlantic Ocean meet the slopes of the Serra do Mar, where you can fish, enjoy its great scenic beauty, and enjoy the local bars and restaurants.
There are also the remains of a sambaqui, an archaeological site where remains of shells and oyster shells can be found, vestiges of the prehistoric life of the ancient inhabitants of the region.
